Tomato rasam


Ingredients

2 tomatoes (grind to paste)
2 tbsp red gram dal (cooked)
1/2 tsp tamarind paste
Salt to taste
Bit of asafoetida
2 tsp rasam powder
Few curry leaves
Finely chopped coriander leaves
1 tsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds

Mix all ingredients except oil, coriander leaves and mustard seeds with 2 cups water and allow it to boil.

When it gets frothy, add the coriander leaves and tempering of mustard seeds.

Serve hot with plain rice or as a soup.
