My husband and I cook everyday after work. He is a fantastic sous chef and I cook Gujarati food learnt via osmosis from my mother. The result is quick, healthy, fresh food as opposed to the ready meals that my colleagues eat.

I started blogging last year following a 4 month trip through South-East Asia, Central America and the USA. During our trip my husband and I met many wonderful people and inevitably shared a meal with them. As we discussed the food we were eating, my love of cooking was revealed and I was often asked to email recipes to our new friends. I decided then that it was time to share my recipes with the world to prevent my family's recipes being lost in time and to encourage people to cook healthy Indian food.

I didn't imagine that I would still be blogging 10 months on but I love hearing from people when they have made a meal and enjoyed it - especially when they are new to cooking. The most common comments are receive are "It was so easy and so delicious!". Yes! That's the point - cooking Indian food is not technically difficult.

This site gives simple food logs…where you’ll find dozens of vegetarian recipes, Pooja tips and procedures…The recipes here, were collected by me. Most of them would be south Indian, learnt from my mom, and some of the cookery books I read, and some are from the television shows I watch. Am putting them all together to share my interest in cooking. In future am going to write all the pooja procedure and manthras for all occasions.

Couple of months back I was introduced to the world of blogging and that day itself I started blogging regularly. I love packing creative lunches and finding new ways to eat vegetables! I want to Inspire others to eat healthier, plant-based meals and move more. The credit of me developing interest in trying out new recipes goes to my beloved husband and the idea of me posting the recipes here goes to my wonderful friend priya. Am interested in interior decoration, painting, and my passion is cooking.

Please do come and visit my blog and post ur valuable comments

Annam from Home of anna is today's featured blogger..Read more about her

My name is Annam and I am blogging since October 2009. I have not been posting much in the beginning but during the end of last year & early this year things have become too intense to the point of even posting couple of recipes each day.

I started cooking few years ago soon after I got married like everyone else. My cooking skills were limited in the beginning (in our early days of marriage) to the point where even my husband would claim himself to be a better cook than me. Things have changed now for the better. My husband would not dare to say such things even in his dreams ;-). Since our marriage, my cooking has gone to a whole new level. I have tried many new dishes, watched lot of cooking shows, collected new recipes and gathered several cookbooks. As of today, I just love cooking & I see it as a means to relax myself. My blog is primarily a reflection of my experiences in the kitchen along with my other passions in life. My favorite cooking related movie is Julie & Julia.

My blog is about my experiments in baking, sharing some of my cakes, desserts, snacks and regular daily Indian food recipes, including Madhwa Brahmin cuisine. I am also making an attempt to collect and share information on cooking and baking ingredients in Bangalore as its a challenge finding the same here.Through my blog, I am also trying to reach put to people who shy away from cooking by providing easy recipes, hence trying to promote love for cooking.

For people like me, who are not trained in baking, but interested in the same, blogging is a great way of interacting with like-minded people across the globe. It would be a great way to learn from people who are willing to share their knowledge and help others. It would otherwise be extremely difficult to always learn from trail and error. I am looking forward to share with people with whatever little I know and also have an enriching experience myself, while improving my cooking from others' expertise.

Priya of Enveetu Kitchen is today's featured blogger. She says -

A Teacher by profession, cooking is my next passion. Staying away from my mom while working, started my interest in cooking. After my marriage in 2004, this interest scaled up and as a mother now, wanting to give healthy food to my kid, my cooking interest has reached its height. My husband being a good foodie, loves to experiment with food. Saying that, he is also an hardcore critic.

Staying @ home looking after my kid, I started blogging from September 2009. My blog Enveetu Kitchen, still in its KG's, brings you a lot of Veggie Food. Me being a South-Indian, love to experiment with South-Indian and North-Indian recipes. Now I m making myself comfy with baking. Thanks a ton to all my fellow bloggers who have posted wonderful baking recipes.

Apart from cooking, I try to post some parenting articles from the magazines I read, which I feel might help mother's like me. Blogging has really opened up opportunities to have a good network of friends and sharing of ideas.

Madhuri from Cook-curry Nook is today's featured blogger. She says -

Cook-curry Nook is a humble attempt to share and spread the love for Vegetarian Cook-a-lore.

I do not do any one particular cuisine on the blog. Im a gourmet cook-a-holic in the true sense of the word, and love to experiment with anything vegetarian. You can find an assortment of mouth-watering and scrumptious vegetarian recipes on the site.

There are some great cooks in the family, and they have always inspired me with their Cook-a-lore. Both Amma and Daddy are wonderful cooks, and all the small things I pay attention to while cooking, I have learnt from them. Right from the time I was old enough to hang around Amma's apron strings, she always told me: “Cutting vegetables is an art by itself, so learn that before you want to start cooking”. And so I did! That’s how it all began…my love story with the pots and pans, the cutlery and crockery, the tantalizing aromas and flavours, and everything there is to the Art of Cooking!

Amma and Nani (my maternal grand-mom) have scores of hand-written recipe-journals and cook-books: most of the recipes in them handed down from generations in the family, and some others from miscellaneous collections, television shows, other good cooks among family/friends, etc. I keep trying out new stuff from them and also Daddy’s hit recipes, and felt the urge to start this site to share all those interesting recipes/heirlooms handed down to me. Some of them I share may be familiar and some others, totally new. Most of the recipes on Cook-curry Nook are as healthy as it can get, however I do have my share(s) of indulging here n’ there too…after all, what is life if you cannot savour it! Cook-curry Nook therefore, is a mixed bag of the choicest of vegetarian/vegan recipes.

My ambition is to write a Cook book someday. It is the latest, raging passion swirling with gusto in my mind, and I'm ardently hoping that everything works out for it to come true!

Look forward to all the support and encouragement from all you super senior Bloggers out there. You are all doing a great job and couldn't inspire us Budding Bloggers more! Three cheers to the Food-blogger Clan! Whoop-ah!'

Uma from Uma's Culinary world is today's featured blogger. Uma says -

My blog Uma's Culinary World is about my culinary journey, ventures, experiences and is still evolving... I like to keep the food simple and with less ingredients. I dont even remember when a hobby changed into a passion. I am a Mumbaikar at heart and I love Chaat. My blog is more about Konkani and Maharashtrian Cuisine. But then there are some recipes which are shared by friends, relatives and neighbours. I guess passionate food lovers cant stop thinking, simplifying and talking about food.

My inspiration has always been my Mother. I love the way my Mom cooks sea food. Nowadays I cook for my husband who is a foodie. While browsing food blogs, I was amazed to see that a single recipe can be cooked in so many ways. Every blogger has something new to share about the same recipe. This inspired me to start my blog. Join me and be my travel companions in my culinary journey..

Meet Apeksha Jain from Veggie Wiz blog today - She says

As the name suggests, mine is a vegetarian blog. I love to experiment with all kinds of cuisines, and as a lot of them are mainly non-vegetarian, I enjoy creating vegetarian versions where possible. So you can find recipes from many different cuisines on my blog, along with a lot of other information and tips to do with food and cooking. Always enjoyed cooking, and having started pretty early in life......I can safely say that it comes naturally to me! But of course, I'm always learning and have a long way to go! I lived for a year in Paris, and that is where I got ample opportunity to develop my culinary skills.

I wouldn't pick any one cuisine that I can say I specialize in, because I love cooking all types of dishes. So I guess my speciality would be vegetarian food!

The inspiration and motivation to start this blog came from my husband Rishab, my biggest fan and critic :) He's the one who made me realize that I could put my talent to better use. We do make a pretty good team, with him being a big foodie and me loving to cook for others. The appreciation I get from people when they like what I cook keeps me smiling all day!

"My Recipes Diary" is more like my food journal, where I write.. what I cook, learn and experiment and mostly the fun, spice and excitement I have along sharing with!
My Recipes are predominantly south-Indian, mostly from my mom and family, and some adapted from great food bloggers and some from my little head!!.

I really started cooking a couple of years ago, right after my marriage. When I was searching for a traditional recipe, I stumbled into the non-stop growing world of Food blogs.

I visited at least about 100 food blogs in a day, I read, read and read...and finally decided to write!

And here I am..just starting to blog about my simple daily food recipes!

Meet B from Creative Ventures of my Kitchen!

I come from a family of culinary experts, my mom, grandmothers and my aunts are all expert cooks. They have been cooking and teaching me and that's how I have been inspired to make so many new and wonderful dishes everyday. All my recipes are creative with a touch of tradition and a dash of simplicity.

I always wanted to start a food blog, since I like cooking and coming up with new recipes and being inventive with food. Most of my recipe in my blog will be unique with new ingredients, so that when people refer to my blog they can get inspired with new ideas to be creative with food. Also making it easier to use new vegetables and fruits which have good nutritional values.

I love to experiment with food and I am hoping to come up with new and interesting recipes for all the fellow bloggers to give them a new dimension into simple yet creative cooking. Hope you all will join me in this venture in my kitchen!

Foodzone is today's featured food blog..Read more what the author has to say-

I am a full time working mom of a 1.5 yr old naughty little girl. I come from a family of wonderful cooks.

I enjoy cooking and trying different cuisines. I am new to this blogging. Started very recently and got addicted to it. I happened to search for a recipe online and came across this wonderful world of food blogs.

For my love for cooking and experimenting, I wanted to start one right away. So me along with two other friends decided to start a food blog and I took the initiative and started this blog. So far I'm the only one posting though.

Coming to the blog, I called it foodzone and I post with the name "FoodZone". My main intention behind starting this food blog is it serves as a way to save my recipes( recipes passed on from my mom and MIL & my experiments) and also an easy way to share them with friends and family and ofcourse with all other foodies out there.

Main inspiration for my blog is my husband, who helps me with taking the pictures and uploading them. He calls himself the "Lab Rat" for my culinary experiments.

Lastly, I like to eat healthy and cook healthy. So I want to keep this blog active with someinteresting and healthy recipes. Hope you have fun reading my blog and try out my recipes.

This is Manasi, an architect by education and construction manager by choice. I started food blogging only recently and simply enjoy it. My food blog, Cook With Moi could be described as the brain child influenced by the movie 'Julie and Julia". I took up the challenge to prepare 306 odd recipes from my source book "Ruchira" by Smt.Kamalabai Ogale, the lady who has been an aide to most of the Maharashtrian households over 3 generations. However, I try to modify the recipes to suit modern & contemporary the taste buds.

The purpose of all this self bragging is to really appreciate your concept of featuring newer bloggers like moi-meme.

Champa from Stories from an Indian Kitchen is today's featured blogger- Read more about her

My name is Champa. If I tell someone that the first time I tried making something all by myself was at the age of 12, they probably won't believe me. I started spending a lot of time helping my mother when my oldest sister got married and moved out of our house. I was the sous chef to my mom till I left India about 11 years back. Just by watching her cook, I had learnt so much that when left alone in the kitchen, I had no problems being the main chef. After I migrated to U.S on H-4 visa, for about a year and a half was just a home maker. That is when my interest about baking, cooking north indian dishes started and that eventually turned international. I enjoy cooking/baking and to be honest, I feel I enjoy feeding people more.

I was motivated towards blogging by Vaishali of Holy Cow. I used to correspond with her before and she was the one who said with all the information I have on food, I should start blogging and that's when I started this blog. I feel if someone learns something by reading my blog, the work is well worth it. Plus, it is like a journal that I will be passing on to my kids.

Meet Azmeena from Desi Zayeka food blog-

She says -

My blog is called DesiZayeka and is like a journal to keep track of my cooking experience. For those who are unaware of the terms – Desi practically refers to anything from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Tibet; Zayeka meaning ‘taste’. It is now self explanatory as to what this blog is about – yes, you guessed it right!!! It's "Taste of India". It relates of my culinary experience which is consists of mostly Desi food, however, because I have been in States for over a decade, I do try out a lot American, Italian, Mexican and Middle Eastern dishes. Overall this blog represents “MY” culinary experience.

I would like to confess at this point that I am not such a great cook as my mom and my mom-in-law (bade ammi) is. They are one of the best cooks I have ever seen in my life – not only that but they can manage to cook for 40-50 people in just few hours. They are great cook as well as great in managing their time according to the day’s schedule – something that I am never able to do. All of my Desi receipes comes from my mom’s and bade ammi’s kitchen. All of my non-desi receipes are experiments done by me – trying to out smart mom and bade ammi (You believed me… no I am just kidding… I can never out smart them two!!!!)….. ……

Today's featured blogger is Piper from The Crazy Apron. Read more about her

The title of my blog, "The Crazy Apron" came to mind because I feel I lead a pretty hectic schedule. I work 40+ hours a week (at a radio station, which means several weekends as well) and I'm in school part time. I also cook just about every single meal and make just about everything homemade (sauces, flour, etc).

My goal in the blog is to let people know that you can lead a hectic schedule and cook a delicious meal with healthy ingredients. "Healthy" to me just means real food. Real butter, real meat, whole flours, real spices, real plain yogurt - real ingredients that will add nutrition to your body. I avoid diet foods like the plague and try to show people that you can have filling, tasty meals that are still very healthy.

Here's my blog if you want to take a look.

My blog is mostly about Indian cooking, I wish to explore into other dishes in future.

Meet Anshika of Cooking pleasures blog today -

She says -

I am the author of Cooking Pleasures, a food blog, started somewhere in May.

If you ask about inspiration, then my marriage was the turning point which lead to the formation of my food blog. My husband was a typical foodie and as a newbie at that time, I only knew usual North Indian dishes. So my husband's interests, along with my own inclination towards good food took me to the long journey of discovering new dishes, be it of any cuisine. And the blog is my recipe diary.

Cooking Pleasures consists of all the knick knacks going into my life culminating into some kind of food. At times a soup or a main dish but most of the times, yummy desserts. There is one new section which I have started, ingredients dictionary. It includes details about the ingredient.

I don't specialize in any specific cuisine other than Indian. But after I started my blog I have tried my hands in making French, Chinese, Thai, Italian & even Mediterranean dishes. Basically I love trying new recipes.

The new love in my life is baking. And after a few successful attempts, I am head over heels in love with baking.

My objectives are to fulfill my 3 wishes - A Cookbook, A Novel & A Website

Meet Nithya from Nithu's Kitchen today -

Nithu says-

My experiments with cooking started during my school days. Why I say experiments? Yeah, on several occasions, when my mom was not at home, I had voluntarily ventured in to the kitchen and there were times when I just boiled tamarind juice with salt and called it RASAM. Instead of scolding me, my Dad had eaten it praising me.(What a good Dad, doesn't he) Later after few of the experiments like this, I started to take cooking bit serious and learnt the cooking secrets soon from my mom. Now, I'm cooking reasonably a good and tasty menu daily.

The idea of blogging started, when few of my friends and my sister kept asking me for recipes. Being from a Vegetarian family,my recipes would all be South Indian Veg preparation. I always aim at easy and quick recipes and it is because,I hate to be at kitchen always!(Guess it is the same with most of you, right?)

I would be happy to receive your comments on my recipes and that would help me improving my cooking further more.

Budding blogger: Lata Biju

Wondering as to where I disappeared - I got really busy after settling down in my hometown. Lot of things came up at the same time and am still not ready to experiment new dishes in my kitchen..So it will take some time for me to get back to my earlier stint of posting daily on the blog and participating in events.

Meanwhile I received a lot of mails from new bloggers for the budding blogger segment on the blog. So decided to start posting about all of them one by one every day (instead of every wednesday) so that they get better and quicker exposure to other food bloggers. Beginning today, you can look forward to knowing more about some really talented new bloggers. And pls excuse me for not being able to write a personalised introduction for new bloggers due to lack of time.

Meet Lata Biju from Culinary Delights blog...She says -

I do not specialise in any particular cuisine but get my hands on everything that suits me and my family's liking. It ranges from Indian to chinese to continental.

My interest towards cooking started during my early college days. I liked to experiment new things whenever possible. After my wedding I had the opportunity to widen my culinary skills simply because my husband has a great taste for food. My dedication to cook only increased with time. I have learnt from others and used my own variations through these years. In this blog I am trying to bring forth recipes that I have contrived.

We moved to UK a year back. I used to browse for recipes online and one day it just struck me 'why don't I have one of my own?' I have been cooking for years and wanted to share my experiences with others in the internet world. I have to admit that I only started it as a pass time, but now cooking and blogging has become my passion.

A pure Maharashtrian from heart and stomach ;) . I have stayed in the lovely city of Mumbai for all my life. Very much influenced by marathi food and cuisine. Being a pakka Mumbaikar love for street food and various kinds of recipes becomes a part of your life. Most of the recipes in my blog are basically maharashtrian or very much Indian. Baking is also one of my loved areas in cooking. Cakes, cookies and other preparation always tempt me to the fullest.

Couple of month’s back I was introduced to the world of blogging because my husband inspired me. Within a week or so I started my blog and regularly posted recipes. Soon I started to feel like Alice in Wonderland. Strangers became friends, allies in our own kitchen without being physically present. Help was closer even than ‘round the corner’. I have learned so much and love to give it back. This is my sincere effort to showcase what I know from the amazing world of cooking.

I would appreciate if you would visit, read and help me make my blog better.
